Lower retail, financial and mail revenue offset growth for government services, parcels and digital mailboxes for Czech Post in 2020.

Total revenue dropped 3%, while operating costs increased 2%, resulting in a sharp drop in profitability. The post reported that package volumes grew strongly to 52m items, but ordinary mail volumes dropped 13% in the year, driven by the pandemic. Through partnerships in 2020 and H1 2021, the post rapidly expanded its parcel pick-up network to include new pick-up shops and parcel lockers.
