Chairman's statement (extract)
Last year the global economy expanded at a modest rate. Growth in the advanced economies gradually improved, though policy uncertainties and structural constraints continued to weaken overall demand. Meanwhile, growth in the emerging economies moderated as domestic demand was hit by the continued weaknesses in external demand.
