UNEXTM is a set of measurement solutions to measure and monitor international letter service performance with test mail sent worldwide: UNEXTM test letters and packets posted in one country, pass through the world’s postal networks until delivered to the addressee in the destination country. All items contain a small RFID tag and during its postal journey, at specific readings points in postal facilities, the RFID tag will transmit a read. The Mail Measurement system for UNEXTM (MMU) uses this automatic registration data, combined with the date of posting and receipt as collected from the volunteer panel, to calculate the transit time between specific points, allowing postal operators to manage the international mail pipeline in accordance with their delivery commitments to customers, regulators and postal partners. Using the detailed information obtained, Postal operators can identify where bottlenecks are and where corrective actions are necessary.
