March 2018 – Webinar on environmental data collection

On 21 March 2018, IPC and UPU hosted an open webinar for postal operators around the world about the measuring of carbon footprints and the challenges of environmental data collection.

Carbon footprint measurement and environmental inventories call for access to large amounts of data from across operations. How does one get access to validated, credible data? How can data collection processes be managed and involvement of the necessary staff guaranteed? This first webinar hosted by IPC and UPU together looked closer at the challenges related to data management and reporting.

Posts from around the world participated in the webinar. Three postal organisations shared their approaches and experiences, CTT Portugal Post, United States Postal Service and Correos de México.

The presentations were followed by a Q&A session moderated by Pieter Reitsma, Manager Sustainability, IPC and Lovisa Selander, Sustainable Development Expert, UPU.
