We are looking for an Operation Solutions Manager Tracking to join the Operation Solutions departments as soon as possible, or by July 1st at the latest.

The role will be supported by three experts and support roles (among others the Manager Equipment Pools) responsible for different tracking solutions and will be reporting to the Head of Operation Solutions.

Context  

The Operation Solutions Manager Tracking is a new position created to manage tasks currently executed in different teams.

Objective

The Operation Solutions Manager Tracking plays a vital role in driving IPC's strategic goals by continuously improving and innovating tracking technologies to enhance supply chain visibility. This position requires expertise and experience to achieve results that meet member posts' expectations.
Key objectives include implementing IPC’s strategy by improving existing operational tracking solutions and services, identifying new technologies to optimize cross-border postal supply chain visibility, and managing current tracking services and technologies such as RFID tracking, Mail Registration Devices (MRD), Transport Management Systems (TMS), and operational trackers.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage current services and related applications – RFID, MRD, TMS, operational trackers and expand usage and enhance current tracking related IPC services in close cooperation with member posts.
  • Provide an insight/overview of innovative tracking technologies, make a SWOT analysis and feasibility assessment of applying new innovative technologies that provide a cost-effective alternative.
  • Identify optimization potential for new tracking technologies that are relevant to postal or eCommerce cross border items, receptacles, assets in providing improved real time tracking, enhanced visibility and or better measurement of the supply chain. 
  • Create in IPC a centre of excellence on tracking related matters in close cooperation with the IT RFID engineers and colleagues from Central IT.
  • Create a tracking community between with the experts of the posts to support best practice sharing and instigate new technologies and application of tracking solutions.
  • Work closely with member posts and stakeholders to ensure to meet the service targets vs. the KPIs set by and agreed with our member posts.
  • Manage a deployment and service enhancement plan for the current tracking solutions and services and report progress to the head of and support preparation of presentation for the Operations Upgrading Committee. 
  • Manage the delivery of enhancements and refactoring of these solutions. 
  • Manage User Group meetings, enhance service documentation (guides, training material, promotional material) and actively promote usage and user expansion through workshops and other means in close cooperation with the IPC Communications team. 
  • Work closely with the IT colleagues responsible for the IT part of the solutions IT RFID network manager and IT MRD support roles. 
  • Involve the Business analysts at IPC to support on definition of business requirements, high level solution design regarding new solutions, define how the technology fits in the postal business processes and develop a test plan for new solutions developed by IPC inhouse IT or external providers. 
  • Ensure appropriate backing from the IPC IT team for the regular support and maintenance of the current solutions and during the solution design and architecture of potential new solutions and services. 
  • Seek funding for the development of new solutions and or enhancement of current solutions through the User Groups and through the IPC Business council.

Profile

Education

  • A university degree (bachelor) is a plus.

Experience

  • More than 3 years of relevant experience in job roles related to the deployment and management of Tracking Solutions.
  • Experience with the setup, roll out and or management of tracking solutions or tracking event data processing solutions.
